Residents have reported receiving debit cards issued to them in the mail for unemployment benefits that they did not request or apply for from the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES). If you receive an unemployment benefits debit card or letter from IDES without requesting, you should file a report with us by calling 911 and contact IDES to report the fraud. Residents should not provide any personal information, such as social security number and bank account information when looking into why they received debit card from the IDES.
