See more It is with deep sadness that Elk Grove Village announces the passing of former Village Trustee, James (Jim) Paul Petri on July 23, 2020. He will always be remembered as a devoted family man, US Army Veteran, a 45 year employee of United Airlines, a strong regional advocate, and the longest serving elected official in Elk Grove history. With a well-earned reputation as Elk Grove’s “Elder Statesman”, Jim Petri, passionately served the residents and businesses of Elk Grove Village as an elected official for over 42 years. Jim served on numerous local and regional initiatives. He served on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Municipal Conference and the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County for over 2 decades. Jim also volunteered to serve on the Elgin O’Hare Western Access Local Advisory Committee, License Review Advisory Body, Personnel Committee, False Alarm Hearing Board, and a Labor Representative for the Fire Department and Public Works Department. The Village named its headquarters public works facility on Devon Avenue after Petri, which was one of his last projects as an elected official. Today and through the next week, bunting can be seen on the building in honor of Petri’s legacy. Read more on the Village website: https://bit.ly/2EkGa0t ... See more View on facebook « ‹ 1 of 3 › »
