What relevant skills and experiences will you bring to the Village Board?
My background in technology is particularly important as we continue to attract technology companies to the Village. Not only do we need to focus on the infrastructure requirements of these businesses, but we need to be attractive to the employees they will bring to the community. Whether through a more tech-savvy workforce or the next generation of residents raising their families in the Village, our demographic will continue to change. Understanding how to best communicate with an evolving constituency is a critical strategy for engagement, transparency, and delivery of services.
My advocacy work relates well to our Elk Grove Cares program. The Village has been impacted by the opioid epidemic, as have countless communities across the nation. We developed a comprehensive program to help tackle the problem. Through collaboration between the Police Department, local hospitals, religious organizations, rehabilitation facilities, and others, the Village is providing help to anyone who asks for it. Beyond taking care of those battling addiction, there are care groups for their families. Once treatment is complete, there are job placement opportunities, as well. All of this is available to anyone in need, regardless of insurance.
I’ve worked with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to make communities better across Illinois and around the country.
Overall, my diverse experiences provide a unique perspective across a variety of services, programs, and opportunities. As leaders, we have a responsibility to better the communities we serve.
